A short insightful biography that gives a glimpse into the world of the author. It's a great story of finding out who the author is and what she went through to get to where she is today. A candid telling of how she learned to accept herself. Excellent read!

“Family isn’t always about blood- it’s about the people who show up for you, love you, and make you feel safe.”
That line from Candia J. Oliver’s book, Sudden Change couldn’t be more true. Ms. Oliver did a wonderful job of telling her story about the family, the friends, and the community around her that shaped her into the person she is today. My take away is that even though life may take you up hills, down valley’s and sudden turns, having the love of people you call “family” definitely can support you on this journey called life.

I enjoyed Sudden Change by C. J. Oliver and believe you will too! While it is a quick read, it is not short on funny and high interest revelations. Most astounding, is how her “sudden change” manifested, and actions she took to embrace it. Two Thumbs Up!

Sutton Change is a perfect title for this book. It takes you on a tale of a young lady who does a complete metamorphosis uncovering and accepting herself. In a world where many people are currently struggling with self identity and being accepted for their preferences. This is a great coming of age book

The book, Sudden Change, by Candia Oliver was an interesting memior about the life of a young lady (Candia) who struggled with the challenges of her sexual identity and how any person can not only recognize their challenge but can eventually overcome and function as a whole person in a society that continue to be judgemental and unforgiving to people who do not confine to their personal definition of sexual identity. Candia's book starts out slow, sharing her childhood experiences as she struggled with physical, sexual and emotional challenges that came with her maturing as an adolescent and quickly as young mother and wife. Her eventful encounters with men and women laid the foundation as she road a self identity rollercoaster that instantly landed her in the seat of questions. It was not until she surrendered to failure and learned the true meaning of God's love, coupled with the power of real family and friends who can love without judgement. Candia's sudden change helped her break out of the bandage of self hate to self love to live a life filled the understanding that God can and will bless you through your storm as long as you keep him first. The book is a short read, and can be a life long change to any struggling with life's demands that go against what society deems as normal. Read it and be blessed!
